down the Caledonian canal through Loch Ness where we passed Urquhart Castle (see very misty photo) which is the castle they used in Monty Python and The Holy Grail. pretty poor weather all through but we have had a few clear spells and it looks better for tomorrow. We are now at the western end of the canal, poised to set off tomorrow, hopefully for Mull.
Is lovely, and we got there after only a minor mutiny of which more later..... slight problem the next morning when one of our lines slipped from the pontoon in a gust. mark the skipper rushed out to try and haul the boat back on to the pontoon, the guy on the boat next to us rushed over to try and help, pulled on a rope which suddenly came loose, so he fell backwards off the pontoon into the sea. Hilary hauled him back over the edge by the back of his belt, whilst I managed to keep our boat from crashing into his. All in all quite a drama! What amused me in retrospect was that the skippers first thought was our boat, Hilary's was the chap in the water, whilst mine was to save the rather nice wooden yacht moored next to us. In my defense though, if I seem callous, I didn't realise he'd gone in til it was all over.
